Story of J.J. Louro’s founder told in an illustrated book

To mark the 10th anniversary of “Creche Mãe Celeste” (Mother Celeste Nursery) opening, Abrã’s Santa Margarida Parish and Social Center created an illustrated book in homage to the “hero without a cape”, Commendator Joaquim José Louro Pereira.

Written in collaboration with the grandparents supported by the “Semear Afetos” (Sow Affections) project, and illustrated by Diana Reis, the book “The boy who had a heart of sunshine” is a story from grandparents to grandchildren, to cultivate values and affections. It tells the story of the founder of J.J. Louro group, whose life was guided by altruism and resilience.

The book was presented by the Santarém’s Mayor, Ricardo Gonçalves, together with president of Abrã’s parish, Rui Ferreira, and the director of the Social Center, Nancy Martins, on 23 June, in an emotional ceremony that took place in the City Hall.

“The boy who had a heart of sunshine” can be purchased in the different areas of the institution or online through its social media networks.
