The project “Semear Afetos” (Sow Affections), from Abrã’s Santa Margarida Parish and Social Center (CSPSMA) was highlighted in the heading “Faz e Acontece” from Interage program.
Created in 2011, Interage program bets on changing the aging paradigm by promoting youth as a state of soul. Allied with Sioslife, a technological platform that brings together seniors, family and professionals in an ecosystem that allows the constant monitoring of the elderly and the monitoring of their daily activities remotely, the program travels the country in search of inspiring examples and found in the parish of Abrã the project “Semear Afetos” and its mentor Nancy Martins who explains its history and objectives in video.
CSPSMA, driven by Commander Joaquim José Louro Pereira, started out as an institution dedicated to children, but realized that it could make a difference in the lives of the elderly in the community. Sensitive to the needs of this population, the institution created the project “Semear Afetos” to promote active aging and combat loneliness among the elderly.
