J.J. Louro Group and IPSantarém have signed a cooperation protocol which provides for internships, the exchange of technical and scientific information and the awarding of academic and professional merit prizes.
The document was signed on 3 May by the Director of the Human Resources Development Department of the Louro Group, Elsa Benavente, and the President of the Polytechnic of Santarém, João Moutão. The formality took place within the scope of the activities that IPSantarém is dedicating this month to the theme of Employability and Entrepreneurship.
One of the specific actions resulting from the partnership, in the area of Social Responsibility of the Polytechnic, is the promotion of some of the initiatives included in the J.J. Louro Group’s May Month of Health and Well-being, such as various screenings (assessment of the risk of Type II Diabetes; Hypertension) and an Action to Eradicate Smoking, carried out by students from the School of Health.
The Polytechnic of Santarém includes the Higher School of Agriculture, Higher School of Sports, in Rio Maior, Higher School of Education, Higher School of Management and Technology and Higher School of Health. It currently has 4650 students from all over the country, the islands and 18 other nationalities.
The protocol strengthens the cooperation between these educational institutions and J.J. Louro Group, which is continually investing in qualified and specialised resources that contribute to the development of its business competitiveness.
