Music at the Heart of the Factory opens on 12th November

The Boca de Cena de Minde theatre group presents, from November 12th, its most ambitious project: an adaptation of the musical and film The Sound of Music.

Involving the whole local, municipal and inter-municipal community, the project is based on the cooperation with school institutions, recreational and cultural groups, philharmonic bands and amateur choirs.

Developed entirely by volunteers in areas such as staging, orchestra, wardrobe, scenery and communication, the show takes place in an old textile factory that has been deactivated and transformed into a support structure for local culture (Minde Culture Factory).

According to a note from the organisation, this musical, based on the classic immortalised on the big screen by Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, transports the spectator to the dark times of the beginning of World War II and tells the story of the Von Trapp family that shows how music and love can change our destiny, restore hope and make the world a better place.

Grupo J.J. Louro was pleased to be associated with this production with the donation of a piece of furniture central to the story: a folding bed, which allows the same scenic space to be used as Maria’s bedroom and the mother’s office.

The show will be on stage until the end of the year, with performances on Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees.
