Miraterra, a J.J. Louro Group company specialising in public works and urban regeneration, has completed work on Lavradio Park, in the centre of Alcanena. The aim of this project, promoted by the town council, was to revitalise the historic centre and transform it into a new functional, economic and social hub, helping to attract new residents and enhance the area.
With an area of 2,210 m² and a strategic location between the old urban fabric and the new expansion of the town, in front of the Bus Terminal, the work integrated multiple elements that reinforce its versatility as a public space. Miraterra refurbished buildings with architectural value, giving them new uses, and created a car park with 27 spaces, leisure areas, an orchard and a space for events.
Also noteworthy is the creation of a pedagogical space dedicated to the local fauna – namely the fox, badger and gineto – emblematic animals of the municipality of Alcanena, whose presence is evoked through an artistic intervention by Ricardo Romero, which invites reflection on environmental balance and the role of human beings in preserving ecosystems.
This is yet another Miraterra work that reinforces the commitment to valorising the territory, sustainability and urban regeneration.
