One of the highest points in the municipality of Alcanena and a place cherished by the parishioners of Moitas Venda, was recently renovated by Miraterra.
The work on the Santa Marta picnic area and viewpoint included the restoration and construction of stone walls and slab paving, the repair of the cross, the painting of the railings and the rehabilitation of the existing tables.
The work, carried out by Miraterra, was a continuation of the rehabilitation undertaken in 2015. That year, some of the accesses and the Casa do Ermitão, next to the Chapel of Santa Marta, were remodelled.
The aim, according to the parish of Moitas Venda, was to “continue the work already begun and provide the whole space with quality and safety for all those who have the privilege of observing our territory from one of the highest points in the municipality”.
The Cabeço de Santa Marta natural viewpoint is located at the southern end of the Minde fault escarpment and offers unrivalled views over the town of Alcanena and part of the Lezíria do Tejo.
