Miraterra, a J.J. Louro Group company specialising in public works and urban redevelopment, was responsible for the refurbishment and conversion of the former Bugalhos Primary School into a nursery, in a project carried out for the Municipality of Alcanena.
As part of Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), the project transformed a former educational facility into a new social support service, with capacity for 56 children, helping to increase the availability of nursery places in the municipality and provide better support for local families.
The project involved adapting the building to meet the requirements of a nursery, creating a functional and safe environment suitable for children up to the age of three. The facilities provide services including hygiene and nutrition, educational, recreational and motor development activities, as well as individualised care and support. In addition to Miraterra, other J.J. Louro Group companies also contributed to the project, namely J.J. Louro and Lomm, which supplied the cots and lockers, respectively.
For the J.J. Louro Group, participation in this project demonstrates the ability of its companies to work together and deliver integrated solutions that address real needs and create a positive impact on local communities.
