J.J. Louro is one of the sponsors of the “Ciência Viva na Escola – Cientistas de Palmo e Meio” (Live Science at School) Club, in the Arneiro das Milhariças Primary School.
The donation of several pieces of furniture contributed to equip this space that promotes the experimental teaching of sciences, where students can be true explorers.
The objectives of the Club are to promote scientific and technological literacy; to promote experimental science teaching inside and outside the classroom; and to foster the opening of the School to the local community.
The Club, which belongs to the D. Afonso Henriques Group of Schools, was inaugurated at the end of November and presented to Elsa Benavente, director of the Human Resources Development Department of the J.J. Louro Group, a few days before Christmas.
Accompanied by the teachers Lindaura Policiano and Alexandre Moita, and the representative of the Arneiro das Milhariças Parish Council, Gonçalo Amaro, Elsa Benavente watched the scientific experiments carried out by the children and also had the opportunity to get to know the winning logo of the competition launched by the Club.
