To make life a little more comfortable for cancer patients while they receive chemotherapy treatments at the Oncology Unit of the Santarém District Hospital (HDS), the HDS Volunteer Association has been distributing heart cushions and “travel” cushions.
It was with great pleasure that the J.J. Louro Group joined this initiative with the donation of foam to fill these cushions made by the Dress a Girl group of volunteers from Fazendas de Almeirim.
Each cushion has its function. The hearts are used to put in the armpit and provide greater comfort to mastectomized women. The travel cushions are used to relieve the neck during the long hours of chemotherapy.
In the photo are the neck cushions recently delivered by this association in the chemotherapy unit, on floor 0 of the HDS.
