The J.J. Louro Group hosted the 2nd edition of the Academia Maior Empregabilidade Pro at its headquarters in Amiais de Cima on 6 March, an initiative that included the collaboration of the Consórcio Maior Empregabilidade & Alumni, the Polytechnic of Santarém, the Municipality of Santarém and the J.J. Louro Group.
The event focussed on employability and the link between higher education institutions and the business community, with the aim of attracting and retaining talent in the regions. During the meeting, participants visited the Group’s facilities and debated topics such as good employability practices and co-operation between companies and academic institutions.
This type of partnership, as Rogério Palmeiro, Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship and Employability Office at the Polytechnic of Santarem, emphasised, is fundamental to the success of the region. ‘Our collaboration with the J.J. Louro Group is an example of how co-operation between higher education and companies can boost employability and bring value to everyone. Together, we can boost, retain and attract talent, benefiting educational institutions but also the region,’ he said.
For Elsa Benavente, Director of the Human Resources Development Department at the J.J. Louro Group, the partnership with the Polytechnic of Santarém represents an ongoing commitment to developing people and strengthening employability. ‘It was a pleasure to host this initiative at home. We believe that sharing knowledge between academia and business is an asset for everyone. The J.J. Louro Group is committed to fostering an environment that favours personal and professional growth, and it’s gratifying to see that we can contribute to initiatives like this,’ she said.
The 2nd edition of Academia Maior Empregabilidade Pro reaffirms the importance of co-operation between companies, higher education institutions and municipalities, creating essential synergies for the sustainable development of society.
The J.J. Louro Group, with its strategic vision and focus on people, continues to be an example of how successful partnerships can transform the reality of the labour market and regional development.
