FSC certification for wood used by J.J. Louro Group

J.J. Louro Group has obtained the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification for the wood used in the production of its sofas. A seal that ensures the monitoring of the raw material from extraction, through processing, to the commercialization of the final product.

The presence of the FSC seal is a guarantee that the wood used by the Group comes from responsibly managed forests, respecting all good practices, both environmental and social.

The FSC seal is a symbol of the J.J. Louro Group’s concern for the environment and society. It is the guarantee that we make appropriate use of natural resources, contributing, on our scale, to a better world.

FSC certification was introduced in Portugal in 2006. Since then, more than 500 thousand hectares of forest area have been certified (distributed among 34 Forest Management Certificates) and more than four hundred Chain of Custody certificates have been awarded, such as the one that the J.J. Louro Group is now proud to display.

The Forest Stewardship Council is an international forest certification system that identifies responsible sources of wood, paper, cork and other forest-based products. FSC standards are recognized worldwide for their environmental, economic and social benefits.
