Giving continuity to a culture of protection and safety, at the end of March the J.J. Louro Group held a fire drill at Lusocolchão’s foam and plastics unit in Torres Novas.
The nature of the drill was a simulated scenario of a truck fire inside the factory, which resulted in a victim with minor burns.
The drill allowed for the testing of Lusocolchão’s internal emergency plan and to train its employees, promoting behavioural routines and how to act in an emergency situation.
The drill was also designed to test the coordination and reaction capacity of the different agents involved, from the people responsible at Lusocolchão to the Municipal Civil Protection Service team and the Torres Novas Volunteer Fire Brigade, confronted with a fire situation that led to the evacuation of the building.
Lusocolchão periodically carries out exercises and simulations, in accordance with the self-protection measures and the legislation established by the Legal Regime of Safety Against Fire in Buildings.
