On 24 June, the J.J. Louro Group opened the doors of its Amiais de Cima units to students from Póvoa de Santarém’s EB1 school for a visit as part of the ‘Educational Resources Offer’ project promoted by Santarém Town Council.
Aged between 6 and 12, three dozen students were enthusiastically welcomed by our Human Resources Development team. The welcome included the handing out of safety waistcoats and a small welcome kit, followed by a brief explanation of the precautions to be taken during the factory tour.
The visit began in the showroom, where the little ones were able to interactively explore the products developed by the Group’s companies, from furniture to mattresses.
This was followed by a visit to mattress production, starting in the springs area. The day ended in the upholstery section, where it was possible to see up close how materials, precision and manual labour are combined to create our final products.
This action is in keeping with the J.J. Louro Group’s spirit of social and educational responsibility, providing the community with moments of learning outside the traditional classroom environment.
We believe that sowing curiosity from an early age is essential to inspire the professionals of tomorrow. We would like to thank EB1 Póvoa de Santarém and Santarém City Council for the opportunity to take part in this initiative and to renew the J.J. Louro Group’s commitment to education, proximity to the community and valuing the area in which we operate.
