Santa Margarida de Abrã Parish Social Centre (CSPSMA) was one of the three Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS) that won the draw for the “This Christmas, Buy Local” campaign, organised by the municipality of Santarém in partnership with the Commercial, Business and Services Association (ACES).
At the prize-giving ceremony, CSPSMA was represented by Father António Pereira, Chairman of the Board, and Isabel Brissos, Treasurer.
For Isabel Brissos, this was a pleasant surprise that has helped the organisation at a time when the economic situation is increasingly difficult for any IPSS.
Founded by Commendator Joaquim José Louro Pereira, CSPSMA has various services, such as Nursery, ATL, Social Shop and the Semear Afetos project (support for the elderly). It also supports various households in the region in situations of economic and social need.
João Teixeira Leite, Deputy Mayor of Santarém, David Dias, President of ACES, and Susana Martinho, Head of the CMS Economic Development Division, presented the awards on 25 January in the City Hall.
In addition to CSPSMA, the “R.Inserir – Oficinas para todos e para cada um” and “Cáritas Diocesana de Santarém” institutions were also winners.
